  • Located close to a path near Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, in the Edgbaston district of southwest Birmingham, England. It was moved there in 2014. It was previously located in the garden outside the Outpatients Unit at Selly Oak Hospital, in the Selly Oak district of southwest Birmingham, England.
  • The cast bronze sculpture, based on "The Good Samaritan" parable, was commissioned and presented to the hospital by the Charles Henry Foyle Trust.
  • The base of the statue is inscribed with lines from "A Correct Compassion", a 1951 poem by James Falconer Kirkup about a heart operation, dedicated to “to Mr Philip Allison, after watching him perform a Mitral Stenosis Valvulotomy in the General Hospital at Leeds”.
