- Manawatu Railway Company (this company was taken over by the Government in December 1908)
This station opened in 1886 on the new Thorndon reclamation with road access by a driveway from Thorndon Quay opposite Davis Street. The driveway was previously the beginning of Davis Street Extension which ran until 1927 from Thorndon Quay across the reclamation to Thorndon Esplanade now named Aotea Quay.
Initially known as the Manawatu station.
Its buildings were demolished in July 1937 immediately after the opening of Wellington Railway Station, Bunny Street. Evening Post 28 July 1937
