1803 painting and print by J. L. Bouqueto de Woiseri, showing the New Orleans riverfront skyline, celebrating Louisiana Purchase transferring the city to USA control. Also known as "View of New Orleans from the Plantation of Marigny". View is looking upriver from the upper story or roof of the Mairgny Plantation house, below what is now Elysian Fields Avenue. Oil version at Chicago Historical Society; color aquatint and line engraving reproductions were published by artist at the time.
