English: The Veterans Day in Ghana is an annual event for the presentation of the Ghana Armed Forces vis-a-vis the population and the government. The origins of this event go back to the Gold Coast Legion of the British Army, created in 1944. (The name of this military unit was first changed to “Ghana Legion” in 1957.). The organising body of the Veterans Day in Ghana, the Veterans Administration of Ghana (VGA), is contemporary (2016) a member organisation of the British-leaded "Royal Commonwealth Ex-Services League". Aim of the annual Ghanaian "Veterans Day" was and is it according to own statement to establish comradeship between and grant assistance to Ex-Servicemen of the Ghana Armed Forces.
