Category:Wagon trucks

English: A wagon truck is a truck which has a flat cargo area, but unlike in a Category:Flatbed trucks, it also has sides, to contain any sideways movement of loads. These side walls can be either metal or wooden, and can range in height, from relatively low, to the full height of the vehicle. In that respect the lower side examples are similar in appearance to Category:Pickup trucks. These sides can also make wagon trucks look like Category:Dump trucks, but wagon trucks do not have the ability to tip their loads by lifting the cargo area. The sides will often be hinged so they can be dropped to ease loading and unloading, leading to some being called 'dropside' trucks. There may also be an open metal framework fitted above the cargo area to allow it to be covered as a protection of the cargo from the elements (not to be confused with a Category:Curtainside trucks, where there is a solid roof over the cargo area).
