English: Wallacia Hotel is situated along Mulgoa Road in Wallacia, New South Wales. Originally opened on December 3, 1937 it was later used as the Army headquarters for radiophysics (Penrith History, n.d.). It features 29 rooms along with a bistro, bar, VIP room, bottle shop and beer garden (Wallacia Hotel, n.d.) and is an example of an inter-war country resort style hotel in the Stockbroker’s Tudor style (also known as the "mock-Tudor" style). (Higgins, 2021) The hotel is listed as a heritage-listed item in Schedule 5 of the Penrith City Council 2010 Local Environmental Plan (LEP).

The hotel is heritage-listed and described as:

a large inter-war brick hotel sited on the eastern bank of the Nepean River. The architectural style of the hotel is Stockbroker’s Tudor exemplified by the half-timbered cross-gable roof. The front façade has an asymmetrical massing of a pair of projecting two storey wings. It is one of two substantial hotels of this era in Penrith LGA (the other at Penrith), both relate to the theme of leisure and the birth of touring by private motor car. (Heritage Database, 2005)

The heritage listing further says that "historically the building amply demonstrates the theme of leisure which is expressed through its scale, architectural style, public bar and provision of accommodation [and] demonstrates the recreational role of the river in the inter-war era and important role of Wallacia as a tourist resort for the people of Sydney" and further claims that "the hotel is a text book example of a rural hotel in the Inter-war eclectic Stockbroker’s Tudor style which contributes to a village precinct of high historic interest." (Heritage Database, 2005)
