Category names (singular or plural)

@Abujoy: Hi. As your name appears in the history of most subcategories, I would be interested in your opinion about the recent series of renamings. I just realized that it followed my mentioning of examples like Abyssinian cat in this Cube vs. Cubes discussion. As far as I can see, singular is the usual form for species categories. (Felis, Rattus, German Shepherd Dog, American Mustang, Asino dell'Amiata...) Greetings, Watchduck (quack) 12:38, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
