I am reviewing these mass-uploaded files right now. In a first step, I am changing the templates and adding artist's names and painting titles. I have already discovered numerous copyright violations yet, since some painters have not been dead for at least 70 years. In a second step, I will upload altered file versions without the actual painting for those not in the Public Domain (but not simply delete the files, since they are useful for the descriptions and for the sake of completeness of information about the exhibitions as such). The versions with the paintings visible will have to be deleted then. The license templates will also be corrected in this step. The files are listed in special maintenance categories, so the versions can be restored once they are indeed in the Public Domain. I have added a US PD license per {{PD-Art|PD-old-70-1923}}, replacing the simple PD-old tag. Where the license template is displayed, the work itself has also been shown at the Glaspalast exhibitions before 1923. De728631 (talk) 22:58, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
