The purpose of this category

The purpose of this category is mentioned both in the intro of this category and in the Wikipedia article. This purpose is the new field of science:

• ... are visual representations of large-scale collections of non-numerical information, such as files and lines of code in software systems library and bibliographic databases, networks of relations on the internet, and so forth.

• ... and NOT visualisation of information in general, and an other visualization top category: such as the category visualization and category information graphics.

Now this is why I oppose the adding of the categories Charts, Diagrams, Graphics, Graphs, Schemas, Maps and Technical drawing here. If you read the Wikipedia article you understand what I mean.

Now if WikipediaMaster wants to change the purpose of this category I suggest, he first changes the scope of the Wikipedia article. Untill then I like to keep this category a specialized one. -- Marcel Douwe Dekker (talk) 21:24, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
