Categorization guidelines

Hi everyone, some guidelines for the categorization of Rijksmonumenten:

• The image should be in the Rijksmonumenten tree (this category)
• The image should be in a location category or tree
• The image should be in an additional subject category tree (for example houses, windmills, bridges, etc)
• These categories can be intersected (for example Rijksmonumenten in Haarlem or Houses in Amsterdam)
• If a Rijksmonument has enough images, a category can be created. Guidelines above apply to the category and images are placed in this category
• When you create a category it's good to use sum-it-up to add a description (check out the gadget)

Nothing new, but this might help to improve the categorization of the images. Multichill (talk) 12:13, 6 January 2013 (UTC)

Categories not in the tree

I did the same for the files, that gave almost 5000 files. I put the list at User:Multichill/Zandbak. What I see while browsing the list:

1. Images are in a category about a Rijksmonument, but the category isn't tagged as such and not part of the tree (for example Category:Stadhuis Middelburg)
2. Image were removed from the tree or never placed in it

I can just put all the images in this category to have it sorted out again, but it would be nice to have all the first cases sorted out before that. Multichill (talk) 16:44, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
