I don't really see the point of this category. Eventually all flags will be SVG, at which time this category will be redundant to Category:Flags. Furthermore, nowhere else do we categorize pictures by file type. Perhaps eventually we'll have an improved Special:Search page, that can search by media type, and restrict results to members of a particular category. dbenbenn | talk 17:57, 9 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

I had something like this going on EN, mainly so that me and others on EN who drew flags in SVG would have a category to show us what was done already, so that we will not see duplicate work (unless, we are performing corrections). I agree that if we do have this category, after a while, it should be moved. Zscout370 (sound off) 17:54, 14 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
Note: All national flags that currently exist in SVG format are now in this category, I went through them one by one. ナイトスタリオン 21:16, 26 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

I don't mind seeing all flags being replaced by svg flags, but in the case of the Portuguese flag, please use a good one, the national symbols should be respected, and replacing the official flag, found in the presidential website, for an awfull version with stupid colours, representations and proportions is certainly not the best way to carry out this project. Please make the comparison:

I went ahead and purged the ones here whose thumbs did not appear on this list, but I had some problems. First, a lot of the images here have those grey-white squares, are they supposed to be there? Image:SerbianGFflag.svg and Image:POL Pasłęk flag.svg could not be purged (might be related to my comp). Also we have Image:Kildare.svg and Image:Kildare2.svg that appear only as some borders. I might have overlooked some as well. Denizz 23:59, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
