Silesia should be in the category Region in Poland and not Region in Europe. Regions in Germany and the Czech Republik that are sometimes also referred to as Silesia have own names, Lausitz and Silesia-Moravia. What sometimes wrongly is referred to as "Niederschlesien westlich der lausitzer Neisse" historically is "Lausitz" and to be precise, the western part of it. The western boarder of Silesia is the Bober river in Poland. Everything western of this river was until modern times Lausitz and not Silesia. It is true that a very small part of Silesia is in the Czech Repulic, but this part has an own name as Schlesien-Maehren. Besides this, nobody questions that Bavaria is a region in Germany, although most of historical Bavaria (Tirol) is nowadays in Italy and Austria and most of its nowadays northern part (Frankonia) historically has nothing to do with Bavaria. Nevertheless, Bavaria is considered to be a region in Germany and Frankonia a region in Bavaria. The same is true with a lot of regions in Europe and it would bust the category Regions in Europe. So let Silesia be a region in Poland, as it is, and the regions in Poland be regions in Europe and the regions in Europe be regions on our nice planet. Best. User:136.242.18.51 00:48, 25 July 2008

Do not mislead: administrative region and historical region. In Czech Republic lies Silesian-Moravian Region, this is official administrative region in Czech Republic and to have Category:Regions of the Czech Republic. In Poland lies Silesian Voivodeship, this is official administrative region in Poland and to have Category:Regions of Poland (Category:Voivodeships of Poland). Silesia is not official administrative region, this is historical/geographical region lies at more states, not only Poland. This is irrefutable fact. There is no discussion here. Understand that regions are which lie on terrain several states. They belong to Category:Regions of Europe. There is no discussion here. This discussion closed. This is not quite true, as the boarders of Silesia changed in history. Originaly Lausitz was not part of Silesia and as such Silesia was not on land that is now part of the Federal Republic of Germany. The small part of Silesia in todays Czech Republic is Moriavia-Silesia and as such a region of the Czech Republic. If you want a historical category of Silesia, you have to refer to a specific time period and create a category for such a time period, e.g. Silesia in the German Reich (II, III and Weimar) for the time between 1871 and 1945 or in the Medival Kingdom of Poland, Kingdom of Bohemia, Habsburger Reich... All this Silesias had different boarders and there is no one fits all category for them. User:136.242.18.51 01:24, 26 July 2008

You make a mistake. See: en:Czech Silesia on Czech Republic and en:Niederschlesischer Oberlausitzkreis (county of Lower Silesian-Upper Lusatian) in Germany. In 18xx attached very small part Lusatian region to Silesia. Now, this is Silesia or/and Silesian-Lusatian region - what it certifies the official administrative division of Germanys and cultural centres: de:Schlesisches Museum (Görlitz) (Silesian Museum in Gorlitz), de:Schlesisches Musikfest (Silesian musical feast), de:Schlesischer Tippelmarkt; media of Silesia, example: Niederschlesische Kurier (Silesian courier); church: en:Evangelical Church of Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia and de:Vereinigung katholischer Edelleute Schlesiens; organizations, example: de:Schlesische Jugend (Youth of Silesia), en:Landsmannschaft Schlesien (Silesian association of compatriots), de:Landsmannschaft der Oberschlesier (Upper Silesian association of compatriots) and other. Moreover, in constitution of (now ) Saxony (where Silesia is at present) writes about Silesian flag and coat of arms and Görlitz be recognised for the largest Silesian city in present Germanys.
