Discussion

Test run looks OK for me. However will be good idea to consider to make other internationalizations in one edits (licensing, {{Own}}, date, etc). --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:45, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Other headers and {{Own}} can and will be done in one edit. But date changes are a bit too complicated. --Schlurcher (talk) 15:07, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think other bots could do date conversion simultaneously. May be you should borrow code? --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:40, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
At first I want to try myself to know what the Bot is doing. Today at work I had some ideas to include date localisation. Can I get checkpage approval for my bot so long, to test it? --Schlurcher (talk) 14:58, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Added. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:46, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Tested date changes and seems to work [2] --Schlurcher (talk) 16:30, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Will be good idea to make more edits with different situations. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:46, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Today I made a test run with about 300 Edits and checked each manually. There where no big mistakes I found only 2 little bugs and in the last 100 edits where no wrong edits. --Schlurcher (talk) 16:45, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Looks OK for me. However will be good idea to add detailed summary of changes to spot potentially problematic cases. See Special:Contributions/Emijrpbot as example. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 16:02, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks EugeneZelenko for the Feedback. I can not add detailed summaries and personally dont like them. Added today some new features and tested them. In my opinion the Bot is ready. But without the flag it will only spam the rc. --Schlurcher (talk) 15:12, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Are there any other objections with my bot? Today I made an other lager test an added the Template:unknown. Everything seems to work fine. No wrong edit was reportet to me since the start. --SchlurcherBot (talk) 19:02, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure I like the reuse of {{Unknown}}. It has quite a history. These kind of translations should be part of some mediawiki namespace so we could just use {{Int:Unknown}}. Multichill (talk) 20:00, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well it is simply the same as {{Own}}, and this is used. This should then be discussed on an other place not here. But I can deaktivate these changes (so long). --SchlurcherBot (talk) 21:05, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
And the template {{Unknown}} is used in the pictures of the Bundespressearchiv, that are about 30'000 without an author I guess. So I think it is only logical to use this template as long as there does not exist a MediaWiki Version. Comments? --Schlurcher (talk) 12:20, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Any Comments? --Schlurcher (talk) 12:29, 15 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the long wait. I concur with Multichill. If you could change that, I think this is ready to be flagged. Kanonkas // talk // e-mail // 16:37, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for a response ;-). No problem, I will deaktivate all unknown-changes, because there are concerns. --Schlurcher (talk) 18:45, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I've granted the bot flag. I'm marking this as an   approved bot. Kanonkas // talk // e-mail // 19:45, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sorry if this question is a bit late, but does this bot avoid editing bits bracketed by < nowiki > < /nowiki > , as often found in previous 'upload histories' etc that have been copied to the image page. --Tony Wills (talk) 08:53, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes it does. If there is a nowiki in a page it is handled specially. It is even necessary, that there is a linebreak after a heading in the form == Description ==. So these cases should be covered. --Schlurcher (talk) 15:01, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
