@Kadellar: Well, it's perhaps a question of taste. The costumes, although not completely visible, are rather pretty, I think. But what I like best about this picture - and what adds wow for me - are the facial expressions of the dancers, which span a broad spectrum of emotions - from melancholy, through bewilderment and amusement, to mild scepticism. I may be wrong of course, but I think it's not really the most common and boring combination. It's certainly amusing to me. As said, possibly a question of taste. Regarding the light, what is it precisely that bothers you? And what would have been better in your opinion? Tropcho (talk) 18:44, 25 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Julian Herzog: I'm not sure the merit of the photo depends on its presenting the typical look of Bulgarian folk dancers. Actually, I think it's quite far from being representative (as far as the emotions on their faces are concerned, at least; their costumes are, of course, typical). Regarding their not looking happy or neutral, in my view it's exactly the variety of emotion on their faces that is the best thing about the photo (see also my comment above). @Tropcho: Part of my problem is that I think most of them wouldn't like to be depicted in this way, and as they are not really public figures or show an expectation of being recorded, they are not given the chance to represent the image that they might want to represent. This makes the image authentic, but it also makes it an invasion of their privacy in my eyes. The legal situation may be completely different, and everyone can feel different about this, but my personal view is that I'm not happy about this aspect of the photo. It makes me as the viewer of the photo uncomfortable. — Julian H. 10:31, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Julian Herzog: I see your point. Perhaps it would make you feel better if I pointed out that the picture was taken at the Grand Place in Brussels at a moment when a sizeable crowd occupied the square. The dancers were on the vaulted terrace of the Town Hall overlooking the square. I'd be surprised if they weren't aware of how visible they were. Tropcho (talk) 23:21, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
