- Info Golden statue of Buddha in the Wat Thai temple in Kushinagar India, the place were Buddhists believe Buddha died and attained Parinirvana (Nirvana-after-death). The temple was sponsored and inaugurated by the current Thai king Bhumibol Adulyadej. The statue is in a room used only by Buddhist dignitaries and is rarely opened to public.
