Support A 1872 photograph of the Paris Town Hall, taken by the famous parisian photographer Charles Marville, a few months after the great fire of 1871, due to the Revolution of the Commune. Very good size and resolution, a lot of details to be seen (statues, charriot, posters etc...). Notice that the picture is straight, however the perspective is not corrected, it is natural. The ruins are interesting to be compared with the following restoration (beginning in 1873) who gave us the current neo-Renaissance Town Hall.-- Jebulon (talk) 15:36, 18 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

- Hi Wolfgang, thanks for support and interest. Most of your questions have an answer in the file description page, others are provided by following the links (in french, I'm afraid). It is a positive print after an albumen collodium negative, but I'm not sure I can translate these technical matters in a good english. I don't know the size of the picture, it is part of an album of 18 photographs by Marville. You can watch all the pictures of the book with the link "BNF". The restorations have their description in the "retouched" part.
