- Weak support Ah, my favorite flower of the Catskills! A sign that spring is well underway when you see it and red trillium blooming in the woods off trail. Considered a rare species here in New York by the state (I think it even has "threatened" status) because it only flourishes in the northern-hardwoods forests at higher elevations. I suppose it's more common further north in Ontario.
My support is "weak" because although this captures the essence of the flower, the light is a bit too golden to fully do it justice. In fact, I think (mainly because of my experience with seeing them in the shade of beeches and birches) that it looks better in diffuse light, with cooler tones. Maybe you could see about getting one like that next spring? Daniel Case (talk) 17:42, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
