Sample media policy for content partners to adopt edit

XYZ Foundation is committed to the availability of free media which supports and reflects a realistic representation of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities. XYZ Foundation has joined the LGBT Free Media Collective and makes quality media owned by XYZ Foundation available on Wikimedia Commons. This media is made available either under a free license or donated into the public domain.

Beginning January 2013, to comply this policy, official creators of XYZ Foundation media agree to the organization making the media available under either a "Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike" license, a "Creative Commons By Attribution" free license, or donated into the public domain. Official creators of XYZ Foundation media must also consent to the media being uploaded and made available on Wikimedia Commons. All media created by XYZ Foundation staff, interns and volunteers for XYZ Foundation are also made available under the "Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0" free license.

XYZ Foundation retains copyright of the work, and retains the right to be attributed in accordance with the license chosen. XYZ Foundation also reserves the option to take action against anyone who uses our work in a libelous way, or in violation of personality rights, trademark restrictions, etc.
