Alternatives to Template:Information
Hi all, as a Wikipedian-in-Residence, uploading images from a GLAM (project pages) very few of our images conform to the standard information template. It would be great if we could use alternatives such as Template:Artwork for the fine art collections and Template:Specimen for the natural history collections. I notice that this issue was logged back in 2010 and 2012. I have found the customised Upload Wizard for the WikiArS projects but cannot find a simpler one as suggested by Peter_Weis. Am I just having a search-skills failure? Is it possible to create such tools? (By the way, I know about the Mass-upload tool and will be using it soon - but it is not suitable for volunteers/curators who are learning to make simple uploads). Thanks! - Yeah, this has been an enhancement request for ages − see bugzilla:49443. One of the last GSOC was supposed to tackle this (by leveraging on TemplateData) but I am unsure of its current status. @MarkTraceur: :-). Jean-Fred (talk) 17:52, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Feature: allow entering the infos during the upload

Foto's gebruiken
Goeienavond, een goed uur geleden heb ik drie foto's van evenzoveel oorlogsmonumenten geüploadet (via de wizard) i.h.k.v. de fotoactie. Tijdens de fase 'Beschrijven' liep de wizard vast en daardoor zijn de foto's niet gekoppeld aan de betreffende monumentenpagina. Hoe kan ik datalsnog doen? vrgr, Eric. Problem with selecting license
Specifically "Another reason not mentioned above". It doesn't seem to want to accept {{PD-USGov-Military-Marine_Corps}} as a valid license. Dainomite (talk) 03:24, 24 April 2014 (UTC)
- The Upload Wizard, despite all it's wizardry, is unable to follow redirects. Use the real name of the template, {{PD-USGov-Military-Marines}}, instead. —LX (talk, contribs) 05:14, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

- The Upload Wizard is pretty much in a perpetual state of brokenness. Have you tried Commons:Upload? It tends to be much more reliable. —LX (talk, contribs) 19:13, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
