  •  Info One of the classic salmon flies. This is one of two QI fishing fly images on Commons. -- MichaelMaggs
  •  Support Nice (and intriguing) example of how images improve an encyclopedia: most people don't have the faintest idea how a fly looks like, even less to describe it in text (one could try). It would be nice if the picture description mentioned the effective image area in order to have a feeling of the real fly size. Good point. I'll add the size when I have it available again to measure. --MichaelMaggs 18:57, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment There is as mentioned another QI image of a salmon fly on Commons, which for me seems to be equally valuable. I see two possibilities, either only one of them can become VI if we see it as the best image of a "Salmon fly". Another possibility is that we could go in deeper detail and consider the best image of a "Durham Ranger salmon fly" and the best image of a "Green Highlander salmon fly". I tend to think that both images could qualify for VI as they are visually distinct and i guess some fly fishers prefer one over the other and consider them as having quite different properties. -- Slaunger 08:39, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
