Wiki Loves Folk 2016 has been run in three campaigns. All of them have been organized by Wikimedia Spain:
- Spring campaign: From April 1st to April 30th.
- Summer campaign: From August 25th to September 5th. It focused on San Sebastián de los Reyes.
- Autumn campaign: From November 25 to December 15.
