Requirements edit

This is a compiled list of features the tool should support (some of these are optional, a.k.a. nice to haves)

  3. Multiple rounds (at least pre-selection and selection)
  4. Multiple types of rounds
  5. Input list
  6. Output list and format (metadata of the selection)
  7. Easy to use and configure
  8. Picture size config
  9. Preload pictures (offline data)
  10. EXIF Metadata optional
  11. Anonymize entries (so that jury looks at the image only, not at the contributor name)
  12. For each image the administrators can check the jury members who have voted
  13. Possibility to define if an image has a disclaimer in Commons (for instance last year some images were considered protected by copyright)
  14. Fix the bug of last year: if the member of the jury updates a vote, the average is calculated on the average of the jury members and not of the votes (so the updated vote is not calculated as new added vote)
  15. In Austria we worked the last years with our own tool, it would be great if it would fit into the worldwide one, I'd also love to share the code. We had three rounds, two prejury and one in mainjury:
    1. first round (prejury) every jury member votes for as many pictures as possible, but not for every single picture. The requirements for round 1:
      1. Every picture should be ratet same often -> show the jury member the pictures ratet the less often
      2. Jury members can be part of the contest -> filter own pictures out of the process
      3. 5-star ratings
    2. Second round (prejury): every jury member picks his X favorite pictures out of the best Y in total rating
    3. Third row (main jury): the best Z pictures by the prejury go to the main jury members, they pick their top 50 pictures.

Countries Interested edit

If your country is interested in using the Jury Tool, add your name to one of the following lists. Countries that expect to use the tool during the contest are countries that will be screening photos during September as the photos are uploaded. Countries that will use the tool after the contest are countries that will start using the tool once all photos are uploaded (but can still try the tool during September).
