Commons talk:10,000 paintings from Directmedia/Requests for improvement

  • Discussion
Return to the project page "10,000 paintings from Directmedia/Requests for improvement".

We could list nearly all of them here. They are stored using a JPG quality setting of about 40%. If you look carefully you always find compression artefacts. Now, if there is the chance, we should ask for high quality versions for all of them. -- aka 11:42, 21 May 2005 (UTC)

I think the same. To study iconography, they are good enough (but a waste of space). If replacing them is not possible, next time we should rather go for ~1024x768 pixels with a 95% (or better) quality setting, than ~2048x1536 with 40%. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Konrad_Witz_006.jpg is very bad. --Keichwa 20:52, 21 May 2005 (UTC)
