Some ideas for "January" edit

Commoners who live in the Northern Hemisphere may be able to get some ideas from Digital Photography Month by Month by Tom Ang. There is a Look Inside facility on Amazon UK. The Contents page lists the topics by month. For January, these include:

  • Ice formations
  • Frosty mornings
  • Party people
  • A walk in the park
  • Cosy interiors
  • Pets in snow
  • In the winter garden
  • Woodland shadows

January also used to be sale season for UK stores but I think it may start earlier now.

Where I live in the Southern Hemisphere, January topics include:

  • New Year celebrations (over now)
  • Back to school and first day at school (new school year starts now)
  • University Rag Week
  • Fire season (very high temperatures, helicopters regularly in the air putting out fires)
  • High tourist season (for foreigners, local holidaymakers have gone home)
  • Grape harvest begins late January (one sees them being transported from farms to cellars on the roads where I live)
