Église de la Dormition de la Vierge

Il s'agit d'une des premières oeuvres crétoises du Greco avant son départ à Venise en 1567. La Crète ne faisait pas partie de l'Empire ottoman à cette époque, elle était sous domination vénitienne. Un prêt exceptionnel de cette oeuvre, une des trois icônes byzantines du Greco conservées en Grèce, a été accordé au musée du Louvre pour cette exposition.
