Description"To the more than one hundred million victims of communism and to those who love them" detail, from- Goddess of Democracy DC defy censorship (cropped).JPG |
English: This is my photo of the "Goddess of Democracy" Statue in Washington DC, also known as the "Victims of Communism Memorial" by Thomas Marsh, based on the Tianamen Square "Goddess of Democracy" that was brutally destroyed by the PRC government.
Thomas Marsh has very kindly given his commitment to keeping the image of the statue free to use and has licensed the image (the right to photograph the statue) "Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0" (unported) and GNU Free Documentation License (unversioned, with no invariant sections, front-cover texts, or back-cover texts) The OTRS e-mail will follow immediately upon my completing this upload. This covers not only the Victims of Communism Memorial but also the statue in the Newseum in DC, the statue in Vancouver, BC, and the statue in Calgary, Alberta. Attribution should read "Statue by Thomas Marsh" or "Statue recreated by Thomas Marsh" or similar. |
