English: "Trespass on this site is a criminal offence" Welcome to Windsor. This part of the Crown Estate has these signs in many positions around Windsor Castle including the grass outside the walls of the castle. Odd to think that George III surrendered ownership, on his accession, of his Crown Lands (now part of the "Crown Estate") to us the people in return for an annual payment (now the "Civil List"). So we do not appear to be permitted access to our land. |
