Summary
editDescription'No need for a By-pass', Bexhill-on-Sea - geograph.org.uk - 685645.jpg |
English: 'No need for a By-pass', Bexhill-on-Sea For decades there has been a debate about the provision of a by-pass for Bexhill and Hastings.
Plans have been thwarted by a combination of conservationists and rail enthusiasts aided and abetted by a Labour Government, perceived to be anti the southeast, who have removed previous plans from the road construction budget. This photograph shows the problem on a Sunday afternoon in February and illustrates the nature of the A259 coast road which, between Eastbourne and Dover some sixty miles to the east, never gets better than an undivided two way carriageway. |
