Description
English: Cotton fibres as seen through a polarised light microscope. The colouration of the fibres is due to a combination of the degree of maturity of the fibres and the polarised light (the colours are not true). Notice that the fibres are not flat but have a natural tendency to twist.
Ελληνικά: 'Ίνες βαμβακιού όπως φαίνονται σε ένα μικροσκόπιο πολωμένου φωτός. Ο χρωματισμός των ινών οφείλεται σε ένα συνδυασμό της ωριμότητας των ινών και του πολωμένου φωτός (τα χρώματα είναι ψευδή). Παρατηρήστε ότι οι ίνες δεν είναι επίπεδες αλλά παρουσιάζουν μια εγγενή τάση να στρίβουν.
