Description

Often fire is a threat to people. In the 2019 expedition, the steppe burned down the entire main part of the archeological site of Olbia, the fire was stopped only by the road that passes through this place since Аntiquity. It performed the function of a fire protection strip and did not allow the fire to spread to another part of the reserve. The arson of the steppe was carried out by local metal detectors in order to facilitate the search for antiquities. All mollusks and most insects in the affected area died.
