خطاب عبد الناصر الذي قال فيه: وعلى هذا الأساس فنحن لم نسمح فى الماضى - قبل 56 - للسفن الإسرائيلية أن تستخدم مضيق تيران، ولم نسمح لها أبداً أن تستخدم خليج العقبة، وكنا بنفتش كل المراكب اللى بتعدى هذا المضيق، وكنا فاتحين نقطة جمرك، المراكب الأمريكانى فتشناها، والمراكب الإنجليزى فتشناها، والمراكب الفرنساوى فتشناها، كل هذا الكلام استمر حتى سنة 56.

فى سنة 56 حصلت حرب السويس، وصدر أمر يوم 31 أكتوبر بإخلاء سيناء والانسحاب من سيناء لمواجهة العدوان البريطانى - الفرنسى، وعلى هذا الأساس سحبنا قواتنا كلها من سيناء، ورجعت قواتنا فى الأسبوع الماضى، رجعت.. هل إذا عدنا نترك حقنا لا نباشره؟ نترك مياهنا الإقليمية لا نباشر سيادتنا عليها؟ احنا عدنا، حقنا سنباشره، مياهنا الإقليمية سنباشر حقوقنا عليها.
