Common name - prostrate sandmat Tamil name – SITHTHIRAP PAALAADAI ‘holed cream-spread of milk’ Euphorbia prostrata extract is useful to treat bleeding hemorrhoids ; Leaves are rubbed against scorpion stings; Leaf decoction is consumed to prevent 

abortion. Crushed leaves are eaten for dysentery; The crushed  plant is eaten to

melt kidney stones;Plant juice induces labour during childbirth;To treat diarrhea 

also the plant is a traditional medicine; The plant is used  for the treatment of deformations
of the spinal chord; Latex is also used as an arrow poison;Latex is applied to snakebites;

Latex is traditionally used to treat diabetes;For asthma also the plant is handled as 

medicine;Plant is also a blood purifier.
