English: Brig. Gen. Paul J. LaCamera, deputy commanding general – operations with the 25th Infantry Division and United States Division – Center, and a Westwood, Mass., native, shows Maj. Gen. Emad Faris, commander of the 1st Iraqi Federal Police Division, a Purple Heart decoration Aug. 1, 2011 at Joint Security Station Loyalty, Iraq. LaCamera explained how the Purple Heart is the oldest award in the American military and was established by George Washington.
