A couple of "Perdoni", immortalized during the Rites of Holy Week in Taranto, Italy

Summary edit

Description
English: The "Perdoni" shown in the photo are couples of brothers of the Carmine brotherhood who, during Holy Week in Taranto, Italy, make a pilgrimage, wearing their traditional dress. The "Perdoni" are so called in memory of the pilgrims who went to Rome to obtain forgiveness of sins according to tradition. The procession in which the Perdoni take part is a very heartfelt event in the city of Taranto and involves the entire citizenry every year.
