中文(繁體):〈鄐君開通褒斜道刻石〉拓本(大開通,束雲章舊藏),桃園市大園區青峰里(橫山庄赤牛稠)
English: Shimen or "Stone Gate" is a tunnel south of the passageway between the Bao and Xie valleys, amid the Guanzhong and Hanzhong Basins in Shaanxi, China. It was completed in the Eastern Han era (66CE). The construction of the passageway between the Bao and Xie valleys and the Shimen tunnel, as well as the weir hydraulic engineering proposed by Xiao He at the beginning of the Han dynasty all took place in this area. These enterprises have been lyrically eulogized by officials, merchants, and literati of the past on the inner and outer cliff walls of Shimen, making it a site of great cultural significance. These compelling stone inscriptions of large-characters catch the attention of passerby and strike them with awe. From the Eulogy Inscribed on the Stone Gate and the Stone Inscription Commemorating the Opening of the Passageway Between the Bao and Xie Valleys of the Han dynasty, to the Inscription Commemorating Repair of the Mountain River Weir of the Song dynasty, one can observe the diversity of large-character clerical script across the ages. |
