Summary edit

Description
English: PR13-CN-1991-34-9: WWII-Stillwell Road. Dusty and showing the wear of their 1,000-mile (1,600-kilometer) journey, the trucks of the first convoy on the Stillwell Road drive through the cheering crowds on the streets of Kunming, under the welcome banners strung across the road for the occasion. Formerly known as Ledo Road, it was built so the Allies could supply the Chinese as an alternative to the Burma Road. U.S. Army Photograph. Courtesy of the Library of Congress. (2017/05/26). Original photograph is curved.
