| Description |
日本語: 礫を含む赤茶色の砂岩に満たない脆い層。粘土または火山灰のような灰色の層が幾重にも積み重なった海岸段丘。強い風で打ち寄せる波の影響。更に滲み出る水が凍っては溶けるを繰り返し、数分ごとにボロボロと音を立てて崩れている。下にある大きな礫（大礫：64mm～256mm）は打ち寄せられる波で洗浄された状態。崩れた直後は赤い層の成分で赤茶色の土砂が付着している。この赤茶色により石英質の石の半数ほどが黄色または赤褐色に染まっている。ここでは通常津軽半島で採取可能な無色や透明な玉髄や瑪瑙が、カーネリアンやオレンジカルセドニー、イエローカルセドニーとなって採取できる。市販のそれらは熱を加えたり合成着色されたものが大半であるが、ここでは自然に着色されたものが海岸に落ちている。 |
