中文：本畫描繪嘉義地方名士張錦燦醫師之私宅庭院─「逸園」。陳澄波曾在1935年接受《臺灣新民報》記者訪問時提到：「逸園是嘉義醫師張錦燦氏庭園的一部分，此為一幅南宗風格畫，模仿中國古來的畫風表現東洋的氣氛。」
