Die Neuseeländischen Alpen erstrecken sich auf der Südinsel auf einer Breite von ca. 50 Kilometer und auf eine Länge von 360 Kilometer. Das unzugängliche Gebirge kann von Touristen nur mittels Rundflüge erkundet werden.
English: Lake Tekapō Airport: Airplane for tourist flights over the Alps of New Zealand. Lake Tekapo take-off and landing site. The New Zealand Alps extend on the South Island to a width of approx. 50 kilometers and a length of 360 kilometers. The inaccessible mountains can only be explored by tourists by means of sightseeing flights.
