Summary edit

Description Class 50s were all put through major overhauls at Doncaster Works despite being a long way from their operating area of the Western Region. During the early 1980s they were turned out in the distinctive livery with large yellow ends. Seen here on a visit on 6 March 1983, 50007 "Hercules" is showing off its fresh coat of paint in the spring sunshine.
