Accession: 07-598-K Medal, Commemorative, Dewey Washington DC Reception Committee Medal from October 3rd 1899. The committee was originally composed of a core group of 100 citizens formed by resolution of the Washington Board of Trade. A total of 3,000 medals were produced for the reception held to celebrate Admiral Dewey's achievements in the Spanish American War. Collection of Curator Branch, Naval History and Heritage Command. |
