Пост. в 1925 из ГЭ; ранее — собрание Английского дворца в Петергофе

Картина выполнена по заказу Двора, который в летнее время находился в Царском Селе. В архиве сохранилось «изустное» распоряжение Екатерины II «Живописцу Эрик- сену за наш стоячий портрет — 1500 руб., да за картину царскосельской крестьянки с ее семейством — 600 руб., всего 2100 руб.» (ЦГИА, ф. 468, оп. 1, ч. 2, д. 3887, л. 78). Картина была гравирована английским гравером Дж. Уоке- ром. В газете «Санкт-петербургские ведомости» в номе- рах от 28 и 31 октября 1791 помещено объявление о про- даже в лавке Клостермана на Невском проспекте «нового эстампа, представляющего крестьянку, окруженную своими сыновьями и внучатами, деланного с находящегося в арми- таже Ее И. В. г. Ерихсена подлинника придворным граве-

ром Валкером».
