Description PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (Feb. 2, 2010) Three women use empty rice bags to shield themselves from the sun at a food distribution point Feb. 2, 2010, in the Carrefour district of Port-au-Prince. They were waiting for a two-week supply of rice as part of a 14-day food surge operation. The United Nations World Food Program, under the leadership of the Haitian government, operated the food surge as the initial phase of establishing a sustainable and predictable food distribution program for the Haitian people.
