In celebrating the 100th anniversary of the lake's emergence in 1913 an open house was held there on April 14, 2013. Deutsch: Besuchergelände am Erdfallsee im Naturschutzgebiet „Heiliges Meer“ in Hopsten, Kreis Steinfurt, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Deutschland. Die Entstehung des Sees am 14. April 1913 durch einen plötzlichen Erdfall feierte das LWL-Museum für Naturkunde mit einem „Tag der offenen Tür“ seiner Außenstelle Heiliges Meer.
