English: Name: Kibbutz Yad Mordechai Description: The first kibbutz members came from two training centers in Poland. They immigrated to Israel as individuals in 1933-1938 and organized together in a kibbutz called "Mitzvah Hayam", near the city of Netanya (today within the city limits), on a cliff overlooking the sea. The kibbutz was there between 1936 and 1943. עברית: שם: קיבוץ יד מרדכי תיאור: חברי הקיבוץ הראשונים הגיעו משני גרעיני הכשרה בפולין. הם עלו לארץ-ישראל כבודדים בשנים 1933–1938 והתארגנו יחדיו בקיבוץ שנקרא "מצפה הים", בסמוך לעיר נתניה (כיום בתוך תחומי העיר), על מצוק הצופה אל הים. הקיבוץ שכן שם בין השנים 1936 עד 1943. הערות: הקמת הקיבוץ במיקומו הנוכחי היוותה השלמה למפעל ההתיישבות בנגב המערבי, בשכנות לקיבוצים גברעם וניר-עם. בתחילת מלחמת העצמאות נערך בגבול הקיבוץ קרב בלימה, בניסיון לעצור את הצבא המצרי הסדיר שנע צפונה לעבר תל אביב. במשך שישה ימים החל מ-18 במאי ועד ל-23 במאי נערכו ניסיונות של חטיבה מצרית סדירה לכבוש את קיבוץ יד מרדכי עליו הגנו 150 לוחמים עם 75 כלי נשק קלים. כאשר התברר סופית שהתגבורת שנשלחה לא מצליחה לחדור את הכיתור המצרי, ולאחר שהלוחמים נותרו ללא תחמושת ונשק ראוי וספגו אבדות כבדות, הוחלט על נטישת הקיבוץ מיקום: קיבוץ יד מרדכי קובץ מקורי: IMG_4623.JPG |
