| Description |
Taken during a very short turn round time on 11 April 2013, the train crew are swapping ends to of 142.017 to work 2D30 11:25 Bishop Auckland to Saltburn. The current station building was constructed in 1986. Bishop Auckland has been the limit of passenger workings from Darlington since the Beeching cuts in the 1960s. However, the line remained open for freight traffic through to Eastgate Cement Works until 1993. Since then the line has been preserved and since 2010 has been operated as a heritage railway from Bishop Auckland West through to Stanhope. |
