- À gauche, la pharmacie de France, présente sur ce lieu jusqu'en environ 2015 . À gauche de la pharmacie et peu visible, l'entrée de Place du Marché aux Poulets, détruite en 1914 et non reconstruite par la suite*. À droite, le Café Jean et l'emplacement actuel de l'Hôtel Carlton.
Les immeubles de la rue Faidherbe complètement détruits lors de la Grande Guerre (Siège de Lille d'octobre 1914), de la place du Théâtre jusqu'à la rue des Ponts de Comines ont été reconstruits dès les années 1920 ; un style "néo-lillois" (ou "néo flamand") se subsistant au style Hausmanien, encore visible de la rue des Ponts de Comines à la place de la gare * La place du Marché aux Poulets se situait entre les actuelles rues Léon Trulin et Anatole France. → thumb|Lille – Place du Marché aux Poulets. - Repérage sur le plan de 1892 English: Lille (France - North department) — Shot taken from the theatre square towards the entrance of rue Faidherbe.
The Hausmanian-style buildings of Faidherbe Street, from the Theater Square to the rue des Ponts de Comines, were completely destroyed during the WWI and were rebuilt in the 1920s in a "Neo-Lille" style (or "neo-Flemish"). The Hausmanian style is nevertheless still visible when approaching the station square.. |
