Description
English: Monument to the 11th Duke of Hamilton in the form of an open circular temple, 21 feet in diameter, raised upon a rusticated basement. There are nine columns which support the entablature and roof, each 15 feet high, in single blocks of polished red Aberdeen granite; the other portions being of fine sandstone. A colossal bronze bust of the Duke, some 41 inches high, and 19 inches square at the base, was placed upon a granite pedestal within the monument, although now removed to the Low Parks Museum in Hamilton.
