Summary edit

Description

On December 3, 2012, work continued to restore one of two escalators at the south end of the Whitehall St. Station, which was damaged during Hurricane Sandy. Service on the R line was restored to the station, too, but trains are still unable to travel through the Montague Street tube. Signage crews were on hand to make changes directing all passengers to what is usually the downtown platform for all service.
