English: Headquarters of The Washington Center (TWC), also known as The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars, is located at 1333 16th Street NW in Washington, D.C. Built in 1881 for Representative George M. Robeson, the Italianate-style mansion was designed by Wyatt & Speary. It is designated a contributing property to the Sixteenth Street Historic District. Former occupants include Representative William Bourke Cockran, Assistant Secretary of State Robert Bacon, Secretary of State Elihu Root, the American Psychological Association, Persian ambassador Ghaffar Khan Djalal, the Embassy of Nigeria, the Embassy of Venezuela, and Venezuelan ambassador Pedro Manuel Arcaya. |
